Ans: The mechanical teacher is not like a human teacher. It is a machine like a robot. It has a screen on its body. Lessons and answers to questions given as homework appear on the screen. It has different slots or sections for various subjects. Lessons are shown and questions are asked through the screen. During the days of Margie and Tommy, around year 2157 such teachers are called regular teachers. Home works are inserted in a particular slot through punch code.
The mechanical teachers sometimes develop some defects and they are repaired and restored by the county Inspector. For example, conce Margie’s mechanical teacher developed trouble in its geography section. The county Inspector was called in and he restored it. So was the case with Tommy’s teacher. It’s history section had blanked out fully and it was taken away for about a month or so.
The mechanical teachers are on always at the same time every day except Saturday and Sunday. As for the classrooms of Tommy and Margie, they are in their house itself. Margie’s classroom is only next to her bedroom. In such classrooms, one single student is taught by a mechanical teacher.

Ans: Margie always hated school. The mechanical teacher was giving her test after test in geography and she was doing worse and worse. She was displeased with it, so she hated school. In old school kids of the entire neighborhood gathered together and read in the same classroom.
They came to the school courtyard laughing and shouting. Because they were taught the same thing by the human teacher they could help one another with the homework and talk about it. For these things of the old school, Margie thought that the old school must have been fun.

Ans: Yes, I think that the schools today are more fun than the schools in the story. The following are the reasons that will justify why and how schools of today are more fun than the schools in the story.
The first reason is that schools today are held in buildings or buildings. Students gather and learn lessons together. Students of the same age are taught the same things. In the schools of today, students meet each other and enjoy the company of fellow students. They are given some homework and they can talk about it and help each other.
